Southern Oak Insurance promotes local community involvement with volunteer opportunities for agents with The First Tee DRIVE of Florida.
Jacksonville, FL (September 9, 2015) – The First Tee, in partnership with Southern Oak Insurance, is proud to announce that there are 20 youth-serving agencies throughout the state of Florida that will begin delivering The First Tee DRIVE in 2015, as part of their programming instruction. As a component of their partnership, Southern Oak Insurance is providing volunteer opportunities for all local independent agents to be a part of this unique program within their own local communities.
“Southern Oak Insurance is Florida families protecting other Florida families; therefore a strong sense of community is one of our founding principles,” says Ron Natherson, Executive Vice President of Southern Oak Insurance. “It was important for us to give our local independent agents an opportunity to participate in the First Tee DRIVE program and make an impact on their communities.”
The First Tee DRIVE is a set of 18 golf activity plans designed to provide a fun, engaging program which introduces kids to golf and exposes them to the behaviors associated with The First Tee’s Nine Core Values (respect, courtesy, responsibility, honesty, sportsmanship, confidence, judgment, perseverance, and integrity).
Throughout the 2015-2016 school year, agents will have the opportunity to impact the lives of young people in this character building program with more than 450 youth-serving organizations participating nationwide. Agents can volunteer and donate their time to coach, mentor, and support First Tee’s efforts both on and off the course. The character education lessons taught within The First Tee DRIVE are consistent with the principles that guide the employees of Southern Oak Insurance to provide exceptional service to their policyholders.
